Zinc is required for the healthy functioning of all cells throughout the life span, but unfortunately, many people consume inadequate quantities of it in their diets, with vegetarians, vegans, older people, teens, athletes and pregnant and breastfeeding women being at particular risk of developing zinc deficiency. Zinc deficiency can cause problems for the immune system, skin condition, reproductive health and cognitive functioning. Why put up with it when you don't have to?
